Boat Flagpole OEM Manufacturing: From Components to a Retail-Ready Product
Our cooperation with Taylor Made Products began in 2012, when the customer approached XINXING MARINE with development requirements for several new boat flagpole components.
The project started with tooling and sample development. As the cooperation progressed, our work gradually expanded from individual component production to complete flagpole assembly and branded retail packaging.
Project Overview
- Customer: Taylor Made Products
- Product: Boat flagpole and related components
- Cooperation started: 2012
- Initial scope: Tooling development, samples and component production
- Expanded scope: Complete flagpole assembly and retail-ready packaging

Starting with Tooling and Sample Development
The first stage focused on developing several new flagpole components according to the customer’s requirements.
After confirming the initial product details, XINXING MARINE developed the required tooling and prepared samples for evaluation. The customer reviewed the samples, and both teams communicated through several rounds of validation and adjustment.
This step-by-step process helped identify and resolve issues before production. Once the final samples were approved, the components moved into small-batch production.
Instead of moving directly from an initial idea to a large production order, each stage was confirmed before the project continued.
From Components to a Complete Boat Flagpole
As the cooperation developed, Taylor Made’s requirements expanded from individual components to a complete boat flagpole.
XINXING MARINE began handling the production of the related parts as well as the assembly of the finished product. The components were brought together according to the confirmed product configuration, allowing manufacturing and assembly to be managed as one coordinated process.
The expansion of the project did not happen all at once. It developed through continued communication and the successful completion of each previous stage.
Supporting Retail-Ready Packaging
Because the finished flagpole was intended for retail sale, the project eventually extended beyond manufacturing and assembly.
Based on Taylor Made’s branding and sales requirements, we also provided clear blister packaging and full-colour insert cards. The assembled flagpole, mounting hardware and branded packaging were prepared together as a complete retail product.
Packaging was therefore treated as part of the overall project rather than a separate final step. The package needed to present the product clearly while matching the customer’s retail requirements.
A Step-by-Step OEM Partnership

This project shows how an OEM manufacturing relationship can develop gradually:
- Beginning with individual product requirements
- Developing tooling and samples
- Reviewing and refining the samples
- Moving into small-batch production
- Expanding from components to a complete product
- Adding assembly and retail packaging support
From the first component requirements in 2012 to a complete retail-ready boat flagpole, the scope of the project grew as the cooperation deepened.
For XINXING MARINE, long-term cooperation is built by understanding the customer’s requirements, solving problems at each stage and providing the support needed for the next step.
